While I’m building the car race tracks, my son shouts, ‘Daddy, you’re great!’
My vanity is flattered for a moment. In fact, my motive is that the more complicated the tracks are, the longer my son would play with the cars and hence, the longer I can be left undisturbed.
‘You’ll be able to do this when you grow up’, I say, stroking his head.
‘You’ll be even better once you’ve become a father’, I add it quietly in my head.
